It was a fantastic experience putting on 'Wings, Wood, Weave' at the Corinium Museum in Cirencester throughout July, I thoroughly enjoyed the whole thing.

A walk around the display...
The three disciplines, photography, woodcut printing and Saori weaving were very different from each other, this made the exhibition interesting and varied - the combination seemed to work.
Here are some of our visitors and their encouraging comments...
It was a pleasure to take my neighbour Flora to see the exhibition in her wheelchair. Despite claiming she can't see much - she noticed that a particular print, 'Big Red and Ginkgo', that was originally created for her, was not on display.
For me, one of the best things was seeing my work framed up and presented all together - it really gave me a sense of achievement. I included some of the stories behind the images but tried to keep the amount of text to a reasonable level - I didn't want to over do it, but the stories are definitely part of it.
I had some great feedback on the display cabinets - some people found the woodcut blocks themselves interesting and felt they would be something they'd put on the wall too. (Obviously they will have to wait until I've printed all of the editions!)

I also enjoyed producing the posters and signs - using some of my 'day job' skills. And a little mention for Stuart Ballard for coming up with the super name "Wings, Wood, Weave.'
All in all - I think it was a success - perhaps we should take 'Wings, Wood, Weave' on tour... Thank you George and Jak for joining me - and thanks to Emma Stuart and the Corinium Museum for letting us do our thing.
George's prints are available here georgebrooks.net
Jak has an Etsy Shop - Weaving the Wild Studio, she has scarves for sale and takes commissions.
